We are an eco-friendly bubble wrap manufacturer that uses 50% recycled materials.
We are recycling our bubble wrap in-house. This way we save the energy and resources we would have used if we had to produce virgin bubble wrap.
Below we present a 6-step process of recycling in production of the large rolls of bubble wrap:
Step 1: Collection: This first step entails collecting plastic. It is important at this stage that each person properly sorts their plastic and recycles all the items they can.
Step 2: Sorting: The collected plastic is then sent to facilities to be sorted according to type. It can also be further separated based on other properties such as color, thickness and use.
Step 3: Washing: After that, the plastic is washed to remove impurities that may not be recyclable or may even damage the new product, like paper labels, dirt, glue or potential chemicals.
Step 4: Shredding and resizing: Now clean, plastics are reduced to fragments, as it is impossible to recycle them in their developed state. Resizing also helps identify elements that were left during the washing.
Step 5: Identification and separation: The new plastic particles undergo a testing phase to identify their class and quality through procedures like sink-float separation or air classification.
Step 6: Compounding: For the final step, the small particles are crushed and melted together into plastic pellets which can then be used in production of large rolls of bubble wrap.
After each of those steps is completed, new bubble foil can be produced. Recycling plastic does not alter its quality and resistance thanks to new recycling technologies.
We are an eco-friendly bubble wrap manufacturer. Our thick bubble wrap is great for the packing of fragile items, e.g: glass, ceramic, oddly shaped objects, lacquered products, electronics, etc.
We offer roll of bubble wrap from 25 to 200 cm width.
The bubble foil can be disposed in a plastic recycling container or through a plastics recycling drop-off site. Most local authorities accept number 4 LDPE plastic in their recycling program.
Recycled LDPE can be used on its own or combined with virgin LDPE material to create new end-products. Recycled LDPE is often used to produce piping, sheeting, films and trash bags for composite lumber, building and agricultural applications and other products.
Recycled plastic is also used by FILMAR Group in-house to produce new bubble wrap.
Did you know that you can also reuse bubble foil/wrap in a variety of ways before throwing it to recycling?
For example, you can reuse it for shipping your own packages, wrapping fragile items during a move or giving it to others for packing. If you have a green thumb, you can use it to protect plants from frost during winter.
